Vets are urging pet owners to be aware of pet arthritis. A survey showed many owners are not aware their dog or cat is at risk or already suffering from the disease.
One in five dogs suffers the pain and disability caused by canine arthritis. The lack of awareness about the symptoms of this disease explains why it often goes undiagnosed.
If symptoms aren't identified and arthritis is left untreated, your pet can experience chronic pain and difficulty in moving, resulting in a decline of quality of life.
Arthritis can affect all sizes and breeds of dogs and sometimes cats. Although larger dogs are more prone to the disease.
Attributing signs of arthritis to old ages is one of the most common misconceptions. Whilst it does get worse with age, it can affect dogs of all ages.
There are many products available to help relieve some of the pain and discomfort felt by your pet. Do not hesitate to contact the clinic for more information if you suspect your pet is suffering from arthritis.
Vets can prescribe a number of different types of treatment. this may include a combination of weight loss, exercise, diet and medication.
