Dr Andrew Thompson BVSc (hons)
Andrew was born and raised in the Blue Mountains; he graduated from Sydney University in 1993 with honours. In 1996 Andrew decided to travel and gain experience in the UK, he worked throughout England until 2001. Whilst over there Andrew met and married his wife Melanie and they returned to settle into “Mountains” life in 2001. In 2003 he was given the opportunity to buy Springwood Veterinary Clinic, a business that has been established in Springwood for over 20 years. Andrew and Melanie live locally with their young son Lincoln.
Andrew loves his work as a Veterinarian and strives to offer the quality and personal care, for which Springwood Vet Clinic is renowned.
Although working as a Veterinarian is VERY time consuming Andrew still loves playing golf, exercise and gardening when he can.

Melanie Thompson
Melanie was born and raised in England; she came to live in the mountains with her husband Andrew back in 2001. She has been working part time at the Clinic since 2003. Melanie divides her time between work and looking after their young son Lincoln.
In between times she tries to find time for Needlecraft, Gardening and cooking.

Carolyn Pitt
Carolyn joined Springwood Vet Clinic back in 2001. She enjoys life here in the mountains with her husband David. Carolyn is a fully qualified Nurse who brings many years of experience to the clinic and loves all aspects of nursing especially running our successful “Weight clinic”.
Carolyn loves any Arts and Crafts especially Scrapbooking and photography.

Rebecca Stewart
Rebecca started doing reception work on weekends at the Clinic, and then decided she wanted to pursue a career in Veterinary Nursing. She studied at Richmond Tafe and qualified back in 2006, and is now one of our full time members of staff. Rebecca runs our very successful Puppy Pre-school and helps with our on-site Cattery “Le Chataux”.
Rebecca is a local girl who loves going to the gym, socialising and shopping.

Sarah Reynolds
Sarah joined us in April 2008, she works part time at our clinic. She is a Fully Qualified Nurse who did her studies at Richmond Tafe of which she finished back in 2006. Sarah enjoys all areas of nursing but has a special interest in Dentistry and looking after the more “Senior”pets.
Sarah enjoys playing Soccer and playing the Drums as her hobbies when she gets the time.

Danni Hancock
Danni has recently returned to Springwood Vet clinic after leaving the industry quite a few years ago to pursue her own business in Pet Grooming. She has since had a family of 3 and decided to return to nursing. She lives locally with her children and husband and is enjoying being back at Springwood Vet Clinic.
Her hobbies when she gets the chance (which isn’t often!!) is Golf, Scrapbooking and following the children’s sports.

Hannah Ashford
Hannah was recently given the opportunity to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinary nurse. She has started Richmond Tafe and is currently doing her training there and at the Clinic. She came to the Mountains from Wollongong and has lived here for over 1 year. Hannah runs our Cattery “Le Chateaux” along with Rebecca Stewart.
She doesn’t get much time for hobbies between work and her studies, but loves looking after animals and has a dog called Domino.

Receptionist

Marilyn Parker
Marilyn has been at the Clinic since 1994. She is our morning receptionist, the friendly face that greets you and the reassuring voice on the end of the line when you phone. Marilyn has many years of experience and can help with pretty much everything, from bookings for surgery, to making an appointment or for general advice.
Her hobbies are photography, scrapbooking, gardening, reading and of course her treasured grandchildren.

Oddy
Oddy is short for Odysseus, he is famous at Springwood Vet Clinic for keeping the front desk warm and making lightening dashes for the front door. He is a long haired Somali who was left at our clinic about 8 years ago and has stayed here ever since. He has spent many years in PR (pussycat relations) and prides himself on his food quality control!!
His hobbies include sleeping, eating, teasing dogs in reception and more eating and sleeping.
